November 10-14, 2025

In Language, we will be learning a little more about Remembrance Day at the beginning of the week and then begin working on descriptive writing - painting a picture in the reader's mind. We will be using the technique of visualization to help us create a picture and then describe it using adjectives! Our new WWWs are: went, when, journal, hopeless, first. We will be learning about compound words and words that are often misspelled!

In Math, we are continuing to work on subtraction with and without regrouping, as well as addition and subtraction 2 step word problems. Students are asked to find important information in a word problem, show their thinking using equations (algorithm), and respond with a complete sentence.

In Science, we have finished our unit about Soil. Our next unit will be on Forces.

In Health, we continue to learn about nutrition and how to choose healthy foods. Please send in any packaging you have at home that shows the ingredients lists and nutritional values.

***Dental Health*** We are fortunate enough to have a group of dental hygiene students from CNIH (Canadian National Institute of Health) come to visit our grade 3 classrooms this year to help us learn how to best take care of our teeth.  The first visit will be in Mr. Spearin's classroom on Monday, Nov. 10 at 10:30- 11:45a.m. The first visit will be in Mrs. Brennen's classroom on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 9:15- 9:45a.m. They will just be visiting our room to observe how we learn best. They will visit again, at another date to teach us (we will post more info when that date is set).
