March 9-13, 2026

Thursday, March 12th will be St. Patrick's Spirit Day. Dress in green and white!

The weather is slowly warming up and we are getting more and more sunlight. While it may be getting warmer, the ground is still wet and muddy around the school yard. Therefore, students still need to dress appropriately for the weather with proper boots, splash pants and jackets.

While we constantly warn students to stay out of puddles to avoid wet feet, this seems to make it even more enticing for them and even more of a guarantee that they will jump into the puddles. Please, pack a few extra pairs of socks for your child to wear in case their feet get wet.

***Orders for subway, pizza and popcorn are due March 12th***

Please support our Lenten initiative by sending in money for your child to participate in the "Guess the number of eggs in the Jar" contest. The cost is $2 for 1 guess, $3 for 5 guesses!

In language we continue to work on our narratives. Once they are finished we will begin persuasive letter writing and exploring how best to convince someone to think the way we do! We often publish our works using the Book Creator website. This week's WWWs: another, its, it's, through, threw

In math, w
e are almost finished our learning about multiplication. Practicing times tables everyday will help us know our facts and be more prepared to continue our learning in grade 4! Division is next on our learning adventure.

Science: We are learning about hurricanes and droughts this week.

Drama: We have been learning how to use facial expressions and body language to communicate thoughts and feelings.

Health: When we return from March Break, we will be learning about concussions - what causes them and what we can do to prevent them.

This Week:

After March break we will be starting weekly homework to support our preparation for EQAO that will be happening for all Gr. 3 students in May. Students we receive their homework package usually on a Friday and it will be due the following Friday. This will then be taken up as a whole class so it is imperative that booklets (even if they are not finished) be returned on the due date highlighted on the cover sheet.

We continue to share in Lenten prayers and readings, looking forward to Easter.

March Break - March 16th to the 20th - enjoy your week with your family!
